Nov. 8th episodes of the Rachel Maddow Show and The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell

The most recent episodes of the Rachel Maddow Show and The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell covered both the hot topics of the Herman Cain sexual harrassment scandal and the vote on Mississippi's "Personhood" law.

The Herman Cain sexual harrassment scandal broke a couple weeks ago with four women coming forward with allegations of sexual harrassment from the time they worked under Cain for the National Restaurant Association.

Mississippi's proposed Initiative 26 also known as the  "Personhood" law was a law proposing that a fertilized egg is a person, and therefore would ban all abortions, no exceptions, and birth control.

Both the Rachel Maddow Show and The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell showed clips from Herman Cain's press conference held earlier on Nov. 8th and analyzed his strategy for dealing with the allegations with commentary from guests such as Gloria Allred and Goldie Taylor.

Host, Rachel Maddow mocked Herman Cain's use of himself in the third person and noted Cain's stance that this scandal is good for his campaign, and that he is making a lot of money from the publicity.

Rachel Maddow brought in Melissa Harris-Perry a politics professor at Tulane University to talk about the Cain scandal's broader implications on the treatment of women.

Host, Lawrence' O'Donnell brought in one of Cain's accuser's attorney, Gloria Allred who defended Cain's accusation that these allegations are a product of the "democratic machine".

She claimed that she would defend against the exploitation and harrassment of women no matter what the political affiliation of the perpetrator was.

It was announced on The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell that Mississippi's Initiative 26 was defeated.
